Whether you’re drawn to the charm of vintage photography, the artistry of old illustrations, or simply the warmth of something crafted by hand, we hope our collection speaks to you.

Selection
Atelier CAMUN came about from our longtime passion for antique photographs, illustrations and other art findings that are too special to be left behind. As photographers, it always felt natural to search for images in our wanderings. Collecting them, we realized that many amateur snapshots held incredible stories, revealing more the longer we looked – humor, tenderness, quiet poetry. This fascination with hidden narratives is what keeps us searching – there’s nothing better than spending hours flipping through old books, flea markets, personal collections, and all sorts of dusty archives, following instinct and curiosity wherever they lead.
Atelier
Every photograph, illustration, or artwork we frame in our small studio has been selected, restored, hand-mounted and hand-framed by us with care – no machines, no shortcuts, just the slow, deliberate process of bringing something old into the present. We work exclusively with trusted suppliers who share our values of craftsmanship and longevity. Our solid wood mouldings are crafted in Italy by IN.CO.M., a family-founded company with a legacy dating back to 1975. For mounting and passepartout, we rely on premium materials: ColourMount boards made in the UK by Slater Harrison Ltd, a specialist in fine paper and card with over 90 years of experience; Italian-made Caneva passepartout, developed with over four decades of expertise; and 220 gsm boards from Hahnemühle, one of the world’s oldest paper mills.

Selection
Each frame begins with a decision – that a particular photograph or artwork is worth preserving. Many of the pieces we work with come from flea markets, antique shops, archives, or private collections, and the first step is always restoration. We clean each image gently, with care not to alter its character or damage its surface, preserving the marks of time that give it soul.Once we choose the right combination of mount and frame, we cut everything by hand – the passepartout is measured and precision-cut for each individual piece, the moulding is trimmed and mitered, the glass is shaped, and the whole assembly is mounted in our studio. Frames are glued and reinforced with corner clamps to ensure lasting strength. The back of every frame is sealed with archival Hahnemühle board to protect the work from dust and the passing of time.We use no automated machinery – the only electricity involved is for lighting.Handmade from start to finish, our framing process ensures that each artwork is preserved and ready to become part of a new story.
